Row it, surf it, or sail it; at $1500 for the base kit, the PT Spear by Port Townsend Watercraft is a great boat for the urban dweller who doesn't have a lot of space and would rather cartop a boat than use a trailer. It also comes in a nesting version (the PT 11), which would make a great tender for the ocean going sailor.

The Fat Lady has sung!
Oracle Team USA (if you're a sailor, you already know this) made a dramatic comeback to snatch the America's Cup from what all the pundits (yours truly included) had said was a sure thing for the Kiwis.
The Cup, she's not going anywhere. She left her heart in San Francisco.
Kudos to Jimmy, Sir Ben, Sir Russell Coutts (I wonder if he can go home to New Zealand?), the crew of Oracle and yes, to Larry "The Shogun" Ellison for putting on a great effort and changing forever how sailboat races will be conducted in the future.
Who'd A Thunk It?
That I, one of the naysayers, would get excited by the America's Cup. How could I not be, the comeback from the big hole that Team Oracle dug itself into has thrilled sailors around the world. Say what you want about Larry, he does know how to pick talent. Now it all comes down to one more race, and yes, the fat lady will finally sing.

But the ... cough, cough, cough ..."Americans" haven't. Thanks to that great "American" skipper, his great "American" tactician and their "All American" crew, the race will run another day.
Mind you, I think the caterer is an American, but I could be wrong.

Oracle won the day. So it stands at 8 races won by ENTZ and 5 for Larry's guys. But, since Larry had his hand in the cookie jar and was penalized 2 points, it's 8 to 3 in ETNZ's favor.
