I watched a fleet of Open 5.70s sail back into the marina last week and thought, those look like a lot of fun. So this got me thinking, "I wonder if I can build something similar?" Then I remembered seeing a video a few years back on Live Sail Die showing some guys sailing Tokyo Trash Baby. I present to you, the i550, a sportboat you can build at home.

I think you should learn how to sail. A bit of common sense also comes in handy if you want to venture out on the water. "See that thing staright ahead, it's called a beach."
But Joe, I've seen catamarans sail onto the beach in Florida.

Every spring, over a thousand sailors from 53 countries come to Mallorca to participate in a unique event where the best crews of Olympic sailing compete in the hope of victory and receive from H.R.H.Queen Sofia, the trophy that bears her name. A legendary trophy on which are inscribed the winners of the 43 editions held to date.
The “Sofía MAPFRE” Trophy, also popularly known as the TROFEO SOFIA MAPFRE ISAF SWC MALLORCA, has become over the years a tradition that is part of social and sporting calendar of Mallorca, that feels it as their own and inalienable. A fact that was reinforced with the participation of members of the Royal Family is a fact of their bond with the race.
