Before You Buy A Boat And Go Sailing...

I think you should learn how to sail. A bit of common sense also comes in handy if you want to venture out on the water. "See that thing staright ahead, it's called a beach."
But Joe, I've seen catamarans sail onto the beach in Florida.

Cat scratch fever!
Every spring, over a thousand sailors from 53 countries come to Mallorca to participate in a unique event where the best crews of Olympic sailing compete in the hope of victory and receive from H.R.H.Queen Sofia, the trophy that bears her name. A legendary trophy on which are inscribed the winners of the 43 editions held to date.
The “Sofía MAPFRE” Trophy, also popularly known as the TROFEO SOFIA MAPFRE ISAF SWC MALLORCA, has become over the years a tradition that is part of social and sporting calendar of Mallorca, that feels it as their own and inalienable. A fact that was reinforced with the participation of members of the Royal Family is a fact of their bond with the race.
It is a unique race, almost magical. The Bay of Palma perfect conditions for sailing, together with the warm welcome of the inhabitants of Mallorca, make a competition especially appreciated by those who have ever participated. A race that nobody wants to miss and we all dream to win some day. “The sailors’ event”.
That boys and girls is what a sailing event should look like.

Wednesday Weather Website. "Forecast.io!"
Wow!
I think it's visually stunning, especially when you load the animation. Of course, I went to Architecture school, and if you haven't guessed by the orientation of this blog, am a visually oriented person.
Take a look.
High Tides Only Happen At Night!
Eric King, of Eugene, Oregon went for a stroll on the beach Monday morning. He wasn't aware the tide was coming in until it was too late.
Luckily for him, he had a rock to stand on and a cell phone to call for help
"I don't really know how tides work," Eric said. "I was under the impression, which might be pretty ignorant of me, but I was under the impression that the moon had the major thing to do with the tides, so I thought tides were high at night. But, apparently, they have high tides during the day, too."

I been standin' on the rock, waitin' for my seeds to grow
