Mad Monday. Richard Branson, Eat Your Heart Out.
99% of us can't lay out the mula for an island. But, if you have a little ingenuity and madness, you can build one. British (of course he's British) artist Richart "Rishi" Sowa went to Mexico and built his own floating paradise. (mind you, it's all in the eye of the beholder) Rishi filled nets with empty discarded plastic bottles to support a structure of plywood and bamboo, on which he poured sand and planted numerous plants, including mangroves.

Amazing Video From A High Flying Rocket, 121,000' in 92 Seconds.
Derek Deville's “Qu8k” blasted into the sky on September 30th from the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. It climbed to 121,000 feet in 92 seconds. It took some stunning video along the way. Yeah, I know, the video is close to 17 minutes, but it's worth watching. Prepared to be amazed.

Marine Life Monday. "Golf Course Hazard!"
Not just a hazard to your score, but to your life. Mommy!
A half dozen Bull sharks got stranded in a small lake after a flood near Brisbane, Australia. It's said that they are fond of golf balls, birds and small mammals. The sharks are often seen trying to tempt the golf club members into the water, something about the joy of swimming.
The Bull shark, Carcharhinus leucas, also known as Zambezi shark or unofficially known as Zambi in Africa and Nicaragua shark in Nicaragua, is a shark common worldwide in warm, shallow waters along coasts and in rivers. The bull shark is well known for its unpredictable, often aggressive behavior.
The Bull shark is most famous for its remarkable ability to thrive in both saltwater and freshwater and can travel far up rivers. They have even been known to travel as far up as Indiana in the Ohio River and Illinois in the Mississippi River, although there have been few recorded attacks. As a result, they are probably responsible for the majority of near-shore shark attacks, including many attacks attributed to other species.

Paddling Across The Straits Of Gibraltar. (Round Trip)
How Cool Is This? 200 Miles Flying An Electric Airplane.
Pipistrel-USA won NASA's Green Flight Challenge after its Taurus G4 electric airplane flew a 200 mile course in under 2 hours.
"Two years ago, the thought of flying 200 miles at 100 miles per hour in an electric aircraft was pure science fiction," Jack Langelaan, team leader of Team Pipistrel-USA.com, said in today's award announcement. "Now we are all looking forward to the future of electric aviation."

Surfer personality profile: muy loco
Stick, what's that? (crazy! a lot of bodysurfers think of the Wedge as Valhalla)
The Wedge, Valhalla or Hell? I say Hell. You can call me a baby or little girl, I don't care. Beach breaks are not my thing, see that thick wave coming at you, it can break you in two. You better have a ton of experience and a good deal of nerve to take on those monsters........you also better have a good insurance policy....did you put together that will?
