Shark Attack!

Shark Catamaran

Did you expect a swimimng eating machine? These sharks are known to ply the waters off of Canandaigua, New York. There other sharks supposedly in that cold country to the north called Canada. It has also been reported that a shark or two have been spotted in Lake Tahoe, most rational sailors attribute these sightings to a case of grog fogging the mind.

Shark Catamaran

The Shark Catamaran is a woooden cat designed in 1962 by JR Macalpine-Downie. Why am In suck a sucker for odd ball boats?
I  guess what I like about her is that she is a wooden boat that can be built at home.

There is nothing as beautiful as a wooden boat.
This photo comes from last year's Raid Finland. Raid Finland is a yearly week long distance adventure race for 4.5-7.5m traditional and classic open craft powered by sail and oar.

Raid Finland celebrates its 5th year. The Event will start on July 8th in Helsinki and follow the inner-coastal route thru the town of Porvoo to Lovisa ending on  July 14th in time for the the Lovisa Small Ships Race. One of my goals is to participate in this race.
